Best Ever Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup light or regular sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup yellow corn meal

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg and beat well.
  3. Stir together sour cream, salt, baking soda; blend into butter mixture.
  4. Add flour and corn meal. Stir well.
  5. Spread mixture into greased 8" square baking pan.
  6. Bake in preheated 400° oven for 20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
