Cranberry Chutney

This lovely cranberry mixture makes a wonderful gift at holiday time as it goes well with many entrees.
Ingredients
- 20 ounces pineapple tidbits or chunks (1 can)
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup white raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup walnuts, broken
Instructions
- Drain juice from pineapple into saucepan. Set pineapple aside. Add sugar, cranberries, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and salt to pineapple juice.
- Heat to boiling; lower heat and simmer for about 25 minutes, until thick, stirring occasionally.
- Add reserved pineapple and walnuts. Remove from heat.
- Put into pretty jars or containers for gift giving. Label with directions to keep refrigerated.
