Marinara Sauce

The classic Italian tomato-based sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 58 ounces tomatoes, drained and chopped (4 cans)
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Cook onion and garlic in olive oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat to medium, and cook 20 minutes or until most of liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard bay leaves.
