Create your own pizza or stromboli from scratch! Surprisingly simple but impressive, especially for the bachelor pad.

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 packages yeast
  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups water

Tomato Sauce

  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 dash of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Toppings

  • Mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • etc...

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients for pizza dough in large mixing bowl. Stir 20 times with a wooden spoon. If necessary, add more flour or water until dough is easy to handle. Cover and let rise for 1 hour in a warm (80°) place, or refrigerate overnight. Dough should approximately double.
  2. Divide dough into desired sizes and flatten onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Dough should be about 1/4" thick. Roll up edges.
  3. Combine tomato sauce ingredients and spread evenly over dough. Put on Mozzarella cheese and other toppings as desired. Bake at 425° for about 15 minutes until inside of crust is no longer doughy.

Notes

Instead of the tomato sauce above, you can use store-bought sauce, the Marinara recipe on page 72, or anything else that comes to mind. Be creative!
