Turtle Pie

Ice cream pie

Ingredients

Caramel Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup half and half cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Pie

  • Chocolate pie crust (Keebler or Nabisco)
  • 3 pints vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream
  • Toasted pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Fill pie crust with ice cream and press toasted pecan halves over the top. Freeze.
  2. Combine butter, cream, sugar, and brown sugar in saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  5. Cut pie into 8 pieces. Pour caramel sauce over each piece.
  6. Serve with sauce hot or cold.
